The EGTC's main decision-making body is the General Assembly consisting of all mayors representing the members of the EGTC and, in the event of their absence, by the deputy mayors acting on their behalf. Operational management tasks are performed by the Managing Director elected for four years by the General Assembly. The MD attends the general assembly meetings with the right of consultation. He or she is also authorized to make decisions on any matter not assigned to other bodies in the Statutes or other fundamental documents. The MD’s work is supervised by the Supervisory Board. The Statutes specify the President of the grouping and his deputy, along with the Managing Director and the Supervisory Board, as officers of the grouping who are voted and appointed from among the members of the General Assembly.
