The strategic goal of the project is to involve the local residents and tourists visiting the region to experience the innovative use of the cultural heritage. Instead of being passive visitors of the places, they can be actively involved in the experience. The thematic parks can be found in 9 settlements: Nové Zámky (SK), Komárno (SK), Hurbanovo (SK), Kolárovo (SK), Šaľa (SK), Komárom (HU), Tata (HU), Oroszlány (HU) and Kisbér (HU). The main goal is to introduce the cultural heritage on both sides of the Danube. The CULTPLAY parks are designed to introduce the most important piece of cultural heritage of the beneficiaries e.g. castle, fortress, watermill. The cultural heritage on the Slovak side (Komárno: system of fortifications, Kolárovo: water mill, Šaľa: Pázmány Castle) is modelled by the Hungarian municipalities, while the cultural heritage on the Hungarian side (Tata – castle, Komárom – fortress, Oroszlány – coal mines) is introduced on the Slovak side of the region.

CULTPLAY thematic parks function as a playground for children, in addition an augmented reality development is also realized that is available in three languages (Hungarian, Slovak and English). All sites offer a possibility to visit another CULTPLAY park on the other side of the Danube. CULTPLAY parks are implemented through joint and integrated cross-border marketing; joint marketing material is promoting the sites; cross-border direct marketing campaign and integrated thematic content was developed.
