Danube Regions have outstanding natural and cultural resources in need to be protected. At the same time, they have a great potential to become attractive destinations for the fast growing trend of slow, green and healthy tourism. The main objective of project INSiGHTS is to find solutions how to make regions more attractive to tourists 13 partners from Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Project partners worked in close cooperation with stakeholders in 8 regions to gain relevant local feedback on the current situation of tourism and also ideas and proposals for new opportunities for slow, green and healthy tourism. 8 integrated sustainable tourism strategies were developed by the partner regions.

  • eco-education related new tourism services encouriging environmentally-friendly and healthy living
  • slow tourism network offering recreational programmes
  • eco-tourism model for urban areas
